If the feed screw is not removed, it will need to be supported. Currently the feed screw is only supported by one bearing on the left side. This creates a cantilever and will create unnecessary stress. We used another scrap 2x4 to support the free end of the feed screw. The feed screw is a long screw that runs the entire length of the table.

The Mill Trunnion Liner fits inside the bearing to protect it from wear caused by the ore being washed over the liner and through the bearing as it is fed to or discharged from the mill.. I purchased this mill about a year ago and as long as I have owned it there has been something funny with the table cross feed screw bearing and retainer. The SN is BR247018 which makes it a 1986. The mill seems to be in pretty good condition except for this one problem.

My earlier Taiwanese made Warco VMC has castellated nuts on the ends of the feedscrew which are used to carefully adjust the ball race bearings.
